Default No Country for Old Men

What the heck?! I generally advertise myself as a two and a half star movie goer because I like movies to entertain not provoke. We saw "No Country for Old Men" on vaca and.. Huh? Did they forget to film the ending? Can one of you smarty pants lay it out for me? I even read the last five pages of the book in the airport bookstore to try and get a clue. At least it wasn't "Magnolia".

BethB!

Go watch it and tell me what you think happens. I figured out The Sopranos finale but I had years of watching it to get up to speed. You can do it! I may have to get my book club on the case.

What was the ending in Sopranos about, did Tony get whacked? I never watched Sopranos but heard a lot about it.

I agree No Country For Old Man wasn't as good as the hype. Wikipedia has a good explanation of the story, but in the end I concluded I just didn't think the movie lived up to the hype.

Now the Sopranos is definitely worth a Netflix subscription! Combine that with some yummy Italian cooking and..good times baby.

The finale had a black out ending that had fans up in arms.

Thanks for the wikipedia info - I'll check it out.

What's your theory on the Sopranos ending?

Boy, the ending of "No Country for Old Men" really disappointed me. No closure. Glad I'm not the only one shaking my head. My husband thinks that the Tommy Lee Jones character "just gave up" and realized he wasn't getting anywhere so he retired. The Xavier Bardem (Oscar winner) bad guy just had to finish off everyone because that was his mission. Really weird movie.......I think Josh Brolin should have gotten the Oscar though. Anyone else got any ideas

Got it from Netflix, watched it, couldn't figure it out especially the ending and finally how in the world did this thing win the Oscar Hollywood politics won out here.

Spoiler Alert!

Well, I pretty much think the whole fam got wiped out by the hit man that was casing the place and then went into the bathroom. Partly because of the "live by the sword die by the sword" theme of the series and partly because I think the creator decided to leave no room for a Sopranos Movie. Maybe fearing some kind of Gilligan's Island Reunion fiasco. The only other way it could of ended is they all go along their merry way and live their version of happily ever after. I think that is too cynical for even HBO.

What do you think?
