Default Has anyone also been fighting green pool water?

Disclaimer, I am my own worst pool person.

About a week ago, after topping off my pool, I noticed a green tinge to the water. Now I am at full fledged war with the green. I was wondering if it may have been the new water. Has anyone else has noticed a change in their pool water in the last week?

How is your chlorine level? Are your other chemicals balanced? I ran into this earlier this year when things started getting warm. I used a concentrated algaecide and it cleared right up.

I have made so many trips into Leslie's pool supply it isn't funny. So, as of today, yes my chemicals are fine. I put two packets of fresh and clear in around noon, with the concentrated algaecide to follow about four. It sounds like, from your experience, that should do the trick. YIPPEE.

Yup, worked for me. If you do have algae growing and the algaecide kills it you may need to filter and run your sweep a bit longer than normal to pick it all up. Let us know how it goes.

You mean I'm supposed to turn it off? Just kidding. It has been running overtime the last couple of days.

Just don't run your filter at night, you may have neighbors calling security on you.

Seriously, if you continue to have problems, bottle up some of the water and take it to Leslie's. They can run an analysis for you.

I did have to run it the first night after adding the Acid and I was worried all night. Leslie's has been a great help in getting me on the road to recovery. And they don't laugh.
