I (we) bbq year round...

I'm a big fan of dry rubs. I use either a lemon pepper/garlic salt combo, or "Texas roadhouse bbq" spices (available on line) Their rib seasoning is awsome

As far as marinades go, about the only one I use is "Soy vay very teriaki", mostly on chicken.

The trick is to use indirect low heat (less chance of fires )

I want to get a smoker and start experimenting with REAL slow cookin'

*EDIT* I just realized this should be in "The Tasting room" (food related) PLEASE DON'T FLAME ME!!! *EDIT COMPLETE*

Is this the right place for the rub? Texas Roadhouse - Andy's Shop » Specialty Items » Sauces & Seasonings

We got a new grill last spring, and I'm still getting used to it (I sling the tongs in our house). All the infrared stuff is a little over my head right now. The sear grill is awesome for sealing up steaks and it knocks asparagus out of the park. But I miss my old grill! It didn't have nearly the curb appeal this one does, but that thing was tried and true. (Wow.... did I just pledge my loyalty to my old bbq?) <-- that was an "i ride the short bus" wave... not a "hey how are ya" wave)

Speaking of BBQs, has anyone seen the new infared gas grill and know if they work any better than normal grills ?

I have one and I'm not thrilled with it. But then again I'm not used to it...

I whined like a three year old at nap time when I switched from briquettes to propane, and I'm feeling the same way about the infrared grill we picked up last spring. I am (slowly) getting accustomed to the new cooking times/ temps-- its sort of like switching from a conventional oven to a convection.
