Default Local Smoothie King

Local Guy makes good food! Tom? How about CRES? PM me if you read this please. I'd love to help make it happen. Congratulations!

"Tom Ostoich, a Rancho Murieta food manufacturer, developed a new fruit-based smoothie product for school cafeterias. School meal planners revamped menus.

Ostoich saw the new food guidelines as a challenge for his company, Socially Responsible Food Group. He began mixing up various recipes for fruit smoothies in his garage until he came up with a formula that seemed to please the neighborhood children.

"The kids all called me the smoothie man," says Ostoich. "They would ride by on their bikes and stop for a sample."

A year later, Ostoich's SmoothEZe products are being served in the Natomas School District. The products are sold as a frozen fruit purée that is made and packaged in a Southern California plant. The only thing added besides fruit is a bit of pectin for a stabilizer. At the food service locations, water is added to the mix and it is blended before serving.

"One thing that makes our smoothies different from most others is that we use no dairy products," says Ostoich. "That cuts down dramatically on fat and calories."

I refuse to believe a Review Posted at 3:47AM.

Gets me to thinking along the lines of someone's been nipping at the bottle for a while.

I don't mean a Smoothie Bottle either.

Ranch you are so far from the truth I had to get my binoculars. GPA was a Danish farmer and I got his genes. You can tell a Dane...but you can't tell him much.

I chuckled at Ranch's comment too. My guess was you were getting a nice cup of coffee and enjoying a QUIET moment before the house woke up. Am I correct?
