Default 8 Twenty Five West End Restaurant

The restaurant formerly known as Pachanga's has re-opened as 8 Twenty Five West End Restaurant in the same location at 825 Sutter Street, in Old Town Folsom .

Having heard rumors that the restaurant had re-opened recently I decided to head down to Sutter Street yesterday to check it out while we were out doing some local shopping.

Upon entering I immediately saw a familiar face, one of the managers who was a part of the previous staff. He told us about the changes and the future plans as he seated us and we continued to talk about the new restaurant through out the meal, it was very nice to catch up on all, and we had a good time, it was like seeing an old friend again.

The good news is they now have a section setup as a lounge with some nice comfy chairs and will have some couches soon. We were told there are plans to do further improvements to make it into a nice lounge type of area where they will be serving drinks and doing wine pouring.

In addition to the lounge area there were the nice tables setup for restaurant service similar as before in the dining areas.

This, to me, looks like they are going to be separating the drinking crowd from the diners which will likely fix prior problems with loud crowd mixes.

Another improvement that will be coming soon is a new retail gourmet food section where food/cooking items will be for sale. This will be located in the separate side dinning area that had the glass doors and walls (if you remember from before)

Their liquor license is in the process of being redone now and will be completed in about 3 weeks, for now there is no alcohol served, but that will change soon enough.

Presently they serve lunch and dinner with hours Sunday - Wednesday 11:30am - 10:00pm and Thursday - Saturday 11:30am - 11:00pm but in a few weeks they will also be serving breakfast Thursdays thru Sundays.

We were there for lunch and we tried the artichoke sun-dried tomato dip and the grilled chicken panini sandwich with fries.

The artichoke dip was fantastic - it had very fresh ingredients with such robust wonderful taste - we love artichoke dip and this was the very first time we've ever had it where it was very fresh and not a pre-mix, all chopped up and over mixed with cream sauce and such, this version had a little bit of kick to it which was great - the flavors of the fresh artichoke and sun dried tomatoes were a perfect mix and they tasted great on the toasted garlic baguette slices that came with this appetizer.

The grilled chicken panini was also very very good. The chicken was perfectly cooked and nice and juicy with baby spinach leaves, tomato, red onion, and tarragon mayonnaise on a very fresh french sour dough bread. It tasted great and we were really impressed by the freshness of the ingredients which is always the most important factor of good food.

The restaurant did a soft opening last week but a grand re-opening is in the plans within the next 30 days, stay tuned for more on that in the future.

The new menu is unique and fresh and we thought better then before. The dishes, and prices are reasonable and we highly recommend you check them out soon, I think you will be pleased with the positive changes and the very good quality food.
