My computer and printer are all of a sudden having communication problems. i.e. microsoft word wont print. mapquest prints the maps but the direction area is blank. Can't print off my trade industry website. E-mails print normally. Compaq computer and HP 6110 printer.
Any ideas ?

Default Re: printer

First thing I always try is to download and install fresh printer drivers (frequently updated and bug-fixed since you installed last) from the printer manufacturer's website. Sometimes one tiny speck on your hard drive fails and corrupts the old driver. This has brought my printer back to life several times over the years.

Odd though that it works OK with some programs and not others. That may suggest a different problem, but I'd try the driver update anyway.

Now we can hope to hear from our real resident techies.

Default Re: printer

First, I would try unplugging the power to the printer altogether to clear its memory. And then try what Wilbur suggested.
