Default Re: little check marks

That means you are "Subscribed" to that thread. You are automatically subscribed to any thread you have posted in. This is the default setting for everyone. You can modify this in your control panel under "Edit Options"

http://www.murietaonline.com/forum/p...do=editoptions

Your options are:

1> Do not subscribe - Nothing happens

2> No email notification - you are subscribed, but not notified of any new posts

3> Instant email notification - you are subscribed and get an instant email when someone responds to that thread.

4> Daily email notification - you are subscribed and you get one email per day telling you all of the subscribed threads that have had a post.

5> Weekly email notification - Same as daily, but the email only goes out once per week.

You can view your subscribed threads here:

http://www.murietaonline.com/forum/subscription.php

If you want to subscribe to a thread that you have not posted in you can do it manually. Look at the top of the thread for a link called "Thread Tools". Click on it and you should see a couple of options. You can also unsubscribe to a thread here.

You can create folders and move your subscribed threads into these folders. Subscribed threads serve 2 purposes. You can bookmark a thread for later viewing and organize them into folders like your browser bookmarks. The other purpose is to notify you of new replies to threads you have posted in. For those that do not visit the forums often the instant notification is a nice feature. The ability to view all subscribed threads can make it easier to find the conversations you are participating in, especially as the forum grows. Hope that helps.
