I am curious to hear from others what your favorite dishes are from the local eateries: El Gallo, Stonehouse, the Chinese place (or even on up the hill in Plymouth or Sutter Creek?)

I guess I only have two restaurants where I have specific things I will order all the time...

Stonehouse - darn, their website is under construction... Well it's the spaghetti in olive oil with goat cheese and grape tomatoes and I add chicken.

Colina del Oro (Mexican in Plymouth) - I always order their chicken quesadilla, it has all sorts of stuff in it including sauteed mushrooms.

Love this thread!

Stonehouse - The BBQ chicken salad

Taste (in Plymouth) Mushroom Cigars and their seasonal specials

Andrae's Bakery ( in Amador City )

Real no regret brownies. Worth the calories. Everything else they have is really good too.

MarShaTes - Chocolate biscotti and seasonal hot cross buns

Frank Fats in Folsom - Walnut Shrimp and Garlic Green Beans (if beans are in season)

Am I the only one who stopped going to Stonehouse because of the terrible service? Food was good, service sucked.

yum, these all sound good. I will have to try them! I have not been to Stonehouse in a long time. I have never yet heard a complaint about the food, but someone thought there might have been a different chef a few weeks ago because the chicken marsala was totally different from the usual.

I'm not sure what's up with Stonehouse yet. We'd go more often but it's pretty pricey for a quick bite. We'd rather save two dinners there for a really nice one at Taste. I have higher hopes for their take out operation.

Two thumbs up for Taste. Well worth several dinners at Stonehouse.

Susans in Sutter Creek. Anything on the menu. Great atmosphere and great food.

I wouldn't necessarily say the "service" sucked, I like the waitestaff but taking at least 40 minutes to receive your meal is a little long and I think that's the kitchen not the waiters. I asked one of the owners, she said it's because they prepare everything from scratch.

I agree, it can get pricey and that's why my husband doesn't like to go there. The only dessert there that's worth the price for my taste anyway, is the Creme Brulee. I love chocolate but their cakes just don't do it for me...especially for the price!

Stonehouse impressed me the first week here with their overpriced pizza. I havent been back in 6 years. Folks if youre a member go to the club. If youre not then join me as a guest at the 19th hole. The food is good and the call drinks are both good and inexpensive.
