I ate some last year..... They are easy to make and if made right are good in small quantities. When you get away from the store purchased kind they arent that bad.

You obviously have not tried a traditional English Xmas cake then. Topped with Marzipan and Royal icing...It's nothing like those chunks of dried fruit they call a Xmas cake here.

I had a friend who made a "fruit" cake in which he used nuts and raisins and a liquor, instead of that food colored fruit which are awful in my mind. His fruit cake was really good, although could only be eaten in small portions like you do with a slice of cheese cake. Icini, I'd love to try out your fabulous Xmas cake sometime!!!

I'm one of the few who like fruitcake I guess! Since no one in my family does----I'm still eating it in June. Just pour a little whiskey over it.....Yummmm!
