Default The Golden 1 Credit Union To Host Free Shredding Event

SACRAMENTO, CA, March 21, 2008—Teresa A. Halleck, President and CEO of The Golden 1 Credit Union, is pleased to announce the credit union will host a free shredding event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at The Golden 1 Operations Center.

In 2007, The Golden 1 safely disposed of more than 48,000 pounds of sensitive material through shredding events such as this. The public is invited to this community service event. Up to five banker's boxes full of confidential and personal documents will be accepted per vehicle. Shredding will be handled by Iron Mountain in the presence of the documents' owners.

"At The Golden 1, we place a high priority on helping others safeguard their identity," says Halleck. "Helping people safely dispose of confidential personal information to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands goes hand-in-hand with the credit union philosophy of people helping people. We are happy to provide this free service to the members of our community."

The Golden 1 Operations Center is located at 8945 Cal Center Drive, near the intersection of Watt Avenue and Folsom Boulevard.

The Golden 1 Credit Union is California's leading credit union, with 74 offices, $6.7 billion in assets and more than 680,000 members.
