Default Who is CL Bot?

The user CL Bot is simply an automated process. It pulls data from craigslist. If someone posts an item in the "for sale" section and they say their location in Rancho Murieta it is automatically posted on RMO. The process runs every 30 minutes.

So CL Bot is not a real person. I was asked to do this based on the anonymity of the board. If someone wants to sell something they will need to reveal their real identity to the buyer. Now you can either mark your post as anonymous or just post it on craigslist.

If you have no desire to see these for sale items you can simply add CL Bot to your ignore list. You can add this user to your ignore list here.

Thanks Matthew. I was actually feeling bad for poor CL. I couldn't believe how much stuff they were having to sell. I thought for sure they had to get outta dodge and needed cash fast!

I added the user to my ignore list when it first showed up, and unfortunately the threads still show up, and if I open the thread, then I can't see the post. So the ignore doesn't quite seem to work optimally

The question then is whether new posts by "ignored" posters can filtered out of the "new posts" results.

OR (here I go dreaming up more new challenges for Matt, who obviously has nothing better to do), is it possible to put a "mark all read" box/button on the "New Posts" results page? It's not that I don't want to see CLBot's headlines - some of the stuff is intriguing -but that it is a bit of a chore to click through each to one and then back, just to clear it out of the "new posts" results. But a "mark all read" function would make it easy to clear the page after reading those new posts deemed desirable to read.

I will look into how the ignore user feature works. Adding the mark as read link to the search results page is easy. Now at the top left of the thread list you will see a link to mark all of the unread threads as read. Thanks for the suggestion Wilbur.
