Rancho Murieta Online Mobile Version

Did you know there is a mobile version of RMO? If you have internet access from your cell phone or PDA just go to:

ranchomurieta.mobi

So far you can access a quick reference guide of phone numbers, access to the RMO forums, weather, and traffic. The RMO forums will automatically recognize that you are browsing the site from a mobile device and reformat the screen for you. There is less functionality in the mobile version, but you can read and make posts. Many of the times you see me online this is how I am accessing the site. Weather pulls the current weather as well as a forecast for the following day. Traffic pulls incidents logged by the CHP. It starts pulling for our zip code and expands to a radius that encompasses much of the Sacramento area.

I have a couple people that have been using the mobile version and have requested that I add some local businesses. I will be adding those numbers soon. If there is anything you would like to see in a mobile version please let me know.

Gawd...I'm with you Wilbur....I'm still trying to figure out how to access my phone messages!!!! Then, most of the time I forget to turn on the darn phone and I get yelled at a lot.....Darn modern things!!!!!

I assume I'd have to subscribe to the phone's web services option, and start paying for that, to get to the site? I've avoided even turning that stuff on to try it, trying to resist strapping on yet another monthly charge and yet another tempting time-sucker....

I'm told that the blackberries are actually called crackberries because they can be so addictive with the internet feature. I've found that it's true!

We only tried the service cuz I wanted the PDA functions and that required a certain phone with certain functions. DH doesn't use the internet function much (a wasted item for him) and I use it all the time, much to my surprise.

I've found it *really* useful to have the email to communicate with family members, particularly to coordianate with helping my parents out.

Next time you have to replace your phone, you might find that they are no longer making cool ones that don't require the internet feature.


Note: continual dropping of cell phone will speed this process up


I also find that I can do a quick check of stuff here and there (google is my friend). I do however edit my posts more from the phone cuz the buttons are so darn small!
