yes, yesterday for first time also, and it ran all nite. wish the cool evenings would happen... how do you set yours? we set the upstairs unit at 78 and down stairs at 80. and as long as we don't move we're good. our upstairs is open, more of a loft.

Yup. Keeping the thermostat at 78 until the sun goes down but it doesn't kick on too often. Once it cools a bit then we flip on the house fan to push out the warm air and bring in the cool.

Turned on ours for the first time yesterday also. We have a whole house fan that works well at night, drawing fresh air in once it drops to 78 or so outdoors, so around 11 I switch over to that and let that run for a few hours and then a bit in the morning until it starts to warm up outside.

On and running too much. I didn't open either last night. 3'd summer we've thought about a whole house fan - one of these days we'll just do it. I was wondering about the insulation that is supposed to help.. Eagle Shield?

We, too, started yesterday but have tried to go as long as possible with the fans on--doesn't cut it. We have it set at 78 and it runs off and on. Seems like it is cooling down tonight with a bit of a breeze and not that hot wind we have had past couple of days.

Nope...

We fire up the whole house fan in the early morning, button up before it gets too warm. When it starts to cool off in the evening, we open up and fire up the WHF until bed time...

Yesterday... the inside temp. peaked at 75

Today... inside temp. hit 80 (Mrs. was tempted to hit the A.C. , but thought about that bill )
