Default Summer of 2007

With all this serious talk about graffiti and drugs, I thought we could all use a time out. Labor Day weekend already! Although summer doesn't officially end until September 22 (my birthday, BTW), Labor Day marks what most refer to as the "last weekend of summer". The summer of 2007 has been a lot of fun so I thought we could all share our favorite memories.

I've had a few memorable events this summer. My 10 year high school reunion was a blast from the past! It was my nephew's first summer and it has been fun watching him grow. It was also our first summer in our new home and we've had fun lounging by the pool and getting to know our new neighbors. All in all, an absolutely fabulous summer! And, who knows, I may just win that lotto pool making this the best summer ever! How about you?

I really enjoy the summer. The heat does not bother me that much and I dread the winter.

I really enjoyed having the family over for BBQ's and getting to hang with my nieces and nephew. I ALWAYS look forward to that. I had a blast at the RUSH concert which was the best concert I have been to in a long time. I loved going to our property in Truckee and riding our ATV's, shooting guns, fishing and relaxing spending time with my wife. I only wish I would have spent more time up there but it has been a busy year at work and work pays for all of the fun. It has been great hanging out with friends and neighbors drinking, laughing, BBQing, swimming and great conversations. Getting up early in the morning and enjoying that cup of coffee while I decide what I am going to do for the day. Damn that's a good cup of coffee!

This summer has flown by. I guess because I have been so busy but I enjoyed every moment of it. Now I will start to get depressed while I sit in the house and the rain pours, but at least I will have all of the great summer memories from this year and look forward to the excitement of next summer.

We're BBQing as well for son, daughter-in-law, and grandgirl (that she is). But, as usual, come September (or as hubby says, beginning of dove season), the heat seems to escalate and make us all crabby. Can't wait for next SMUD bill--last one was $165! And that was a decrease from prior month!
Kids are back in school and that seems to (sometimes) settle things down. I have to go and make my great coleslaw recipe (it uses top ramen noodles and is great)!

I'm glad we had a mild summer...well until now of course I don't take the heat very well when it's over 100 degrees - S.F. born girl.

We don't have any family up here, well to speak of...we do but we don't get together with them except Thanksgiving and Xmas. But we do enjoy getting together with friends. And enjoy going up to the wineries.

Someone recently told me that we are going to have a bad winter, due to their acorns falling from the tree...early or in mass, I'm not sure what they said now.

I guess the highlight for me has to be enjoying our first summer with a pool.
