Default SPAM Warning - KeyPoint Credit Union

I am sure most of you are pretty savvy when it comes to spam and know not to click on links in emails, but this spammer is trying pretty hard so I thought I would throw it out there.

There is a spammer that is hitting A LOT of email addresses in the last week. They are all from KeyPoint Credit Union and normally talk about suspending your account. They provide a link in the email that looks legit, but takes you to a hacked site. They are just trying to get your personal information. It is a process called "Phishing".

Thanks, Matthew. This scam comes around constantly in the name of one bank or another.

Never, EVER, EVER, respond to an email from your "bank" asking you to click a link to go to their website to solve an urgent alleged problem with your account. REAL BANKS WON'T DO THIS. If you think any such email might be real, pull out your card and CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK. Those email links take you to a dummy site which looks like your bank's site, but is just a trap to get you to key in your PIN/password etc. so THEY can then go to your REAL bank and load up on party money (or arms money for al Queda)

I think this particular bank caught the attention of the spammer becasue of their recent Facebook affiliation.
