Default Imax theater to open in El Dorado Hills

The Sacramento area will get a second Imax theater later this year.
The Regal El Dorado Hills Stadium 14 is expected to unveil its giant screen some time in the fourth quarter of 2008. Unlike the Esquire Imax in downtown Sacramento, which often opens Hollywood blockbusters weeks after their initial release, the El Dorado Hills theater will get most films immediately.

How cool! I keep hoping they will remodel the Sac Imax theater. It is so road worn.

That's great. I like going to see the action movies like Batman, Spiderman & Superman at the Sac Imax. But then there's the added bonus of going to the Esquire Grill afterwards for dinner....yum!

I think that like everything else on the K street mall, that location simply hasn't produced the level of business they hoped for because nobody really wants to go down to the K street mall.

It's true. You wish it wasn't but..there you go. I can't remember a time it hasn't been that way. I do love the Esquire Grill for being in there slugging.

I think the Brave K Street Merchant award for this year goes to Three Monkeys, who just opened this year at the other end across 7th St. from Hard Rock and across the mall from Moe Mohanna's Block Of Death. Wagering that the eternal redevelopment struggle would resolve and that the bombed out Beirut on the other side of the block would finally get redeveloped.

A lot of people have lost their shirts betting that K Street would finally recover.

BTW Three Monkeys turns out to be a very good restaurant, certainly by downtown standards.
