Default The de Young Museum

Yesterday we took the kids to Golden Gate Park. We primarily visited the Japanese Tea Garden, the Botanical Garden, and the de Young Museum. Along with being crazy kids we try and give them a little culture too. Everything was very interesting and the weather was great. One of the coolest things we saw was the Chihuly exibit at the de Young Museum. The Chihuly exibit is the work of Dale Chihuly. Basically it is eleven galleries of all blown glass, from a 56-foot garden of glass to a 30-foot neon sculpture. The exhibit will be around until September 28th and I highly recommend it.

Below are some photos I took at the museum. Flash photography and tripods were not allowed so it was a bit of a challenge to get clear shots. For those that care most photos where shot with an ISO of 1600, and an aperture of 4.5 – 5.0, and exposure times of 1/15 – 1/50.

Another set of amazing photographs! Thanks for sharing!! I can't wait till we're off the 'no entrance' list for places with breakables....

So cool Matt! Thanks for the reminder about Golden Gate Park too. That was one of my standard stomping grounds as a kid. I can't wait for the Steiner Aquarium to open again. It just occurred to me two days ago that all the time I spent there is why I like Buddha statues so much.
