I just tried it several times. Most of the times it offers up a suggestion, but some of the times it does not for the same word.

Any thoughts on what might be making the spell check feature hiccup? It doesn't completely not work, it just doesn't give an option to change the word when its underlined. I saw a few posts about it being a little temperamental with WordPress, but thats the closest I could find to anyone having any issue with it. I'll chalk it up to user (me) error?

edit: I posted too soon. Thx Matt- looks like it might need a little work. No complaints about Chrome otherwise- they got this released w/o many bugs, if thats my biggest complaint!

Its only happened twice (not consistent) but sometimes when editing one of my posts, the 'save' button displays as 'vote'. The rest of the features in the forum seem to work well.

I haven't had time to research this thing yet, but reading this brief review this morning persuaded me to wait for the next release. Review: Google's Chrome needs more polish - CNN.com

I did however learn from the article about an add-on to Firefox which allows you to control Flash resource suckage in Firefox.

I dunno. AOL went the way of the AMC Gremlin. When I ran it in the last century (to try to keep the kids in the PG zone) I was able to run another company's browser over their connection. Which, alas,I think the kids figured out too. But I assume much has changed, but probably I'd guess toward increased compatibility.

Have you googled "AOL and Chrome" to see if any horror stories crop up? might throw in words like crash or seize or conflict

I can close AOL and open EI and run it, or I can open EI with AOL running and use both at the same time.

I would like to find another Browser but use my AOL Address, I've had it since Computers used DOS and it's easy to remember.

Maybe I will poke around this Weekend.

Thanks, Wilbur.

Ranch,

While not an authority on the subject, I do have some experience with my mother-in-law's situation which is similar to yours.

I am assuming that you pay AT&T, Frontier, or someone for Internet service? If this is the case, then you may access the WWW via any browser you wish (Internet Explorer, AOL's, Chrome, etc.). Using your choice of browsers, you may still access AOL.com - Welcome to AOL, log in, and then access your email.

Pipe up if my assumptions are misguided and I am sure there is another way to meet your needs.

Passmore:

Yeppers, running AOL thru AT&T.

Now running Chrome.

Blazing Fast without the Graphics & crap that will be the downfall of AOL, that and their Left Wing Headlines.

I'll be damned, the Spell Check works w/Chrome.

The Spell Check never worked with AOL, not that I need it mind you.
