USA beats Spain 2-0, upset!

I never pay attention to the World Cup but this news was exciting stuff. Spain was #1 in the word with a 35 game winning streak.

Just watched some of the game at Mikunis and there were quite a few excited fans. Great win.

I watched the second half during lunch myself. Spain outplayed the U.S. by far, but despite seemingly having 2 shots on goal a minute, they couldn't score, the U.S. took advantage of the one scoring opportunity they had, and withstood some questionable refereeing. (C'mon, a red card on Bradley for a foul while clearly trying to play the ball in about the 80th minute, and 3 minutes of stoppage time when there were no injuries? Talk about trying to give Spain every chance they could.)

Easily the best win ever by the U.S. Spain had not lost in 35 matches, had won 15 in a row, and was ranked number one in the world by FIFA.

I predict a rematch with Brazil in the final.
