He was so respectfull. She was so disrespectfull.

Feisty, why the no thank yous? Do you know she has been called ma'am before? Do you know by who? Libs have gotten away with it. It is not about the name. It is about the protocol and the fact that "old as dirt" loathes the military.

I'm thinking what a "much ado about nothing" this was to post. Way too many really important stuff is going on in our country and world right now, so that was my groan. Also, whether maybe Barbara was having a grouchy day or not, I personally like her tenacity and outspokenness. Since she is a firecracker in a small package, I have a kinship with her. You asked Max, I'm telling you, so, although from reading other posts, this will cause some to rip me a new one, but that is okay cause, my opinion won't change and words from others won't hurt me.

Nobody will rip you a new one. But most of us realize that it wasn't about what she was called. It was about her disdain for the person she was questioning. She has been called "ma'am" a thousand time before, and on days where she was "grouchy." If she agreed with someone who called her ma'am, (i.e. ACORN, ACLU, etc) she wouldn't have said a word.

Did you hear the entire dialogue? She was asking a question which was being answered in a manner that wasn't going to work for her. She was losing the gotcha line of questioning. Read the transcipt and then you will know what I am saying is right Feisty.

I was doing some research looking for Town Halls being held by our California Politicians.

Madam Speaker Pelosi(D-CA) has no Town Hall Meetings Scheduled.

Senator Bobera Boxer(D-CA) has no Town Hall Meetings Scheduled, but Senator Boxer will be doing some Book Signings:

Boxer’s Book Signings: Bold, Open Forums

by Jude

Now look, as one artist to another, I was determined to leave Barbara Boxer’s book signing events for Blind Trust off-limits. Considering her intellectual gifts, many of you might still be surprised that she would stoop to the political thriller genre. Why not a sweeping history of American achievement, say, or perhaps a scholarly rebuttal to The Myth Of Matriarchal Pre-History?

Not a Townhall meeting…

After co-authoring her second book in spite of very little demand, it must be difficult to shoulder the meet and greets all by her lonesome. Yet, today’s news tells me that the word has already gotten out, so, in the interest of free public debate, consider this a humble public service announcement. Senator Boxer will be signing and reading from her new book this weekend - enjoy:

No Townhall meetings with her constituents are scheduled for our renaissance Senator during this national debate on health care, so this might be as close as you can get. You read that right. She’s very busy. Last night she did take some general questions, so if you attend, be civil and please, leave any Nazi garbage out of it. It may seem funny or rebellious since Pelosi launched it as a smear, but it only undermines important discussion. Plus, you’ll get thrown out much more quickly.
Here are my two suggestions for peaceful protest. First, someone (maybe Chuck Devore?) should organize a flashmob during one of her readings. That would make him a legend, at least in my corner of the world. Boxer might even enjoy it. She seems like a nice lady and I’m told that she really is…..oh, wait, I just read the article again…
The story pits short-statured Senator Ellen Fischer–who happens to be a Democrat (sound familiar?)–against a power hungry, civil rights trampling Vice President (sound familiar?) in a universe populated by characters like “Sam Slaughter,” a right-wing radio host without principles (sound familiar?). As the Senator told the audience, “You write about what you know.” Boxer, who has written one previous novel, A Time To Run, told the crowd she found writing fiction “therapeutic.” At one point she made reference to a point in the book where the Vice President faces the possibility of impeachment–
“It was very cathartic writing a book like that,” she said to big laughs from the audience, just before beginning to read an excerpt from the book.
While she was reading, protesters outside the store, pressed their signs to the windows. When one particularly offensive sign went up, the Book Passage people lowered the blinds much to the Senator’s–and the audience’s–relief. As she moved to the question and answer period, someone shouted “Vote for Peace!” before they were ushered away by security personnel. Most of the Q and A time was reserved for questions specifically about her book, but Boxer did take a few general questions from the audience. Not surprisingly, all of them–with the exception of a single rambling 9/11 conspiracy wing-nut–were about the health care debate. The only prickly moment occurred when the Senator pointedly requested that one audience member not point at her while she asked her question.”
Ok, so with that in mind, I think most signs should include the word “Ma’am,” as in “Ma’am, George Sand would be proud, proud, that you are here today co-authoring a book of fiction under your own name!” Now, about health care…

I have often wondered why The Black Congressional Caucus never came to Mr. Alford's defense.

Maybe they did and I missed it.

Its odd how the liberals of one party seem to notice the color of one's skin more than the other.

I have learned that The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (who now has a $12/year "Prison Membership") has a Conservative counterpart:

Dr. Thomas Sowell.

I guess California isn't the only State with their Representatives missing:

Who are your Milk Carton Politicians?
posted at 2:26 pm on August 16, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Earlier today, I noted that New Hampshire’s media had taken notice that their Congressional delegation had gone missing during the August recess, rather than hold town-hall meetings to face their constituents about the health-care reform package. I joked that they had put Paul Hodes, Carol Shea-Porter, and Jean Shaheen on milk cartons, a reference to the admirable effort of milk producers to help find missing children. Green Room contributor Patrick Ishmael at AIP’s blog noted that Missourians needed to put a picture of Ike Skelton on a few milk cartons, too:
The approach of Missouri represenatives to dealing with the outcry against the health care bill has run the gamut. In St. Louis, Rep. Russ Carnahan has held three disastrous public events. In Lee’s Summit, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver — no doubt influenced by the experiences of Carnahan and others — held a “tele-town hall” and a morning coffee, taking no questions from the audience, all the while insisting that “there is no health care bill” to talk about anyway.
It appears Ike Skelton has one-upped them both. He hasn’t held, and apparently might not hold, any public meetings on the matter.
About 100 people gathered outside Rep. Ike Skelton’s office in Missouri’s capital city to voice concerns about federal health care legislation.
Neither the 17-term Democratic congressman nor his staff were present at the Wednesday evening event, organized by the group Americans for Prosperity and others unhappy that Skelton hasn’t held public meetings about health care.
It seems to me that we need to start a list of Milk Carton Politicians — members of the House and Senate who go MIA when they should be meeting with their constituents to hear their concerns over the health-care overhaul, cap-and-trade, the failure of the stimulus package, and the exploding federal deficit. Who else belongs on a milk carton? Be sure to list them in the comments or send us e-mails so that we can ask the national media to find these lost souls.

Here’s what we have so far:
  • Rep. Ike Skelton (D-MO)
  • Rep. Paul Hodes (D-NH)
  • Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH)
  • Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO)
