Hello everyone, just wanted to thank you all for all the assistance you given us so far and how welcome we already feel.

We hope to move in around the end of June. We should know the closing date this week.

Could we have who most of you use for pest control, we would like to have the home sprayed before we move in, and get set up quarterly, or are bugs not an issue?

The pool has not been maintained as frequently and we would like to have someone clean it and bring up the chlorine to proper levels.

What cable company do you all like the best.

I know I am forgetting some other questions I had, feel free to post any pointers or suggestions.

Pest control.. we use the one Matt has on here I think and it's been great.

Cable! Did you say Cable! Sorry, we have our own cable out here and basic service is included in your RMA fees. There are copious threads on cable management which is why I but I hear that many people are happy with a basic package upgrade. We have a Sat Dish (Dish Network.. I believe).

Pool Service.. sorry I can't help.

Pest Control: I have never used any pest control company so I do not have first hand knowledge. The owner of Apex pest control lives in Rancho Murieta. So I would start there.

Most pest have not been a real problem for us other than ants. There are tons of them in our yard. I spray regularly to keep them out of the house.

Cable: RMA has cable service included in your HOA dues. I would start off with that to see if it meets your needs. Basic cable will work on any TV with a coax input.



For high definition channels you will need a QAM tuner either in your TV or an external box. If your TV does not have one you can buy a box. Something like this will work.

If you want to try and do it yourself let me know and I would be glad to help. You will be right around the corner from me so it'd no big deal. I just tested a friend's pool and it only takes me about 10 minutes to test everything and make a list of what is needed. You get to do the fun work, but I can help with what to add and when.

You can get broadband service via RMA and AT&T. Here are the RMA levels of service.

Tier 1 Download speed of 3 mbps and upload speed of 512 kbps. $29.99 per month.

Tier 2 Download speed of 4 mbps and upload speed of 768 kbps. $69.99 per month.

Tier 3 Download speed of 5 mbps and upload speed of 1024Kbps. $99.99 per month.

If you go with RMA I think they have into specials so make sure to ask about it. If you have a phone and just want dial-up service you can dial 916-234-1010. Enter any username and password and you will get online. This is totally free.

We use Bell Pest Control (they're based in Elk Grove).

Stop in at the RMA office (7191 Murieta Parkway) and get a Community Directory if one wasn't left in the house and/or your husband didn't already pick it up. Pretty much anything you think of to ask, that Matt didn't cover here, Barbara at RMA can point you in the right direction.

How old are your kids? Early soccer registration has ended, but if they are 5 by Aug 1 and that is something you're interested in getting them involved in, they're taking registrations 'til the end of June. Look up Kevin's post about soccer camp (sorry, I retired from soccer, so don't have better info than what Kevin has posted here). I can point you in the direction of football (cheer fittings are tomorrow, so too late for that) if you've got a boy between 7-14. (retiring from football/cheer too, but still "connected"). Summer Rec is taking registrations, but not sure of the last-chance for that - check with Barb at RMA for details.

We use APEX Pest here, it is owned by RM Residents who live off Guadalupe. If I call APEX with a problem they always out same day.
