It's not normal, but I am not sure what they are doing. I will ask.

There is nothing wrong with the fountains at the South entrance. The Country Club must drain both of those ponds during the winter months per the terms of our Cease and Desist Order as reclaimed water is used for both ponds and this allows us to be prepared for overflow protection (flooding) during the winter season. They will be working again once we receive rain (lots of it) or when we are allowed to begin refilling them with reclaimed water (around late spring)........Yes it is ugly but we have to follow the rules.....Thanks!

Thanks ppfi, I emailed Ed to ask, but should have known RMO members are quicker to the punch.

So this will now be normal? That's too bad, but understandable.

Far better than CDOs and ACL fines from the regional board, I'd say!

Would we be violating the CDO if we pumped some raw river water into them until it's ok to pump it out and start filling with wastewater in the Spring? (just what-iffin')

Probably creates a whole host of other riparian rights issues though.

Yes we would. We need to revisit this whole issue IMHO.

What happens if raw river water is pumped into a basin where reclaimed waste water is normally held and then there's a good rainfall or a couple and those basins overflow? If the water in those basins happens to be considered contaminated... oops... I see fines in the event of an overflow. If those basins are empty, they'd be filled by rainwater, but they'd probably not overflow. No overflow = no fine.
