Default RMA, website has improved, check it out!

I got a demonstration today of the RMA website which Coleen has been working on, and it really is a huge improvement to the way it was in the past. Here is the website:
Rancho Murieta Association - Welcome to Rancho Murieta !
It would be helpful for as many people as possible to register with this site so that it will keep on improving. It also gives them a data base of email address's for future messages to the community instead of using snail mail. I am all for eliminating as much paper as possible.

Got to run to soccer practice and I will try it later.

I've got a stupid question (well, a couple of them)...

Why do I need to sign in? What will having that access grant me?

If it's so I can "voice my opinion" I already do that here. I purposely don't log on so I have time to think before I post (though some might not believe that!), but I LOVE that I can read the entire site (aside from the forums that must be subscribed to anyhow) without being logged in. I'm SURE staff and Directors read here even if they don't post. Will my opinion there be more valid? Will only members in good standing be allowed to post their opinions there? Is it open for anyone on the www to register and post too?

With all due respect, RMA is about 10 years too late to the message board forum. Will signing in allow me to post like we do here, in "real time" or will posts be reviewed before they are seen a la the previous incarnation of rmdotcom? I've already cut back on sites I visit on the web cuz there just aren't enough hours in the day. I really don't have the time to keep up with one more, but if someone can convince me that it's "necessary" I'm willing to give it a try.

Yup same error. Maybe they know my address and don't want me to participate.

I sent an email to support. I'll let you know what they say.

Or you're getting kicked out and no one told you yet?

Martha, this web site isn't a blog so there are no comparisons. Certainly if you don't want to go to this web site, that is your choice. You can really do what ever you want, you have free will.

Got it.

What I'm trying to understand is what is so "top secret" that you have to log in to get further into the website? If it's not a blog/interactive message board, what's the point? I'm just trying to understand why I need (or would want) to register to use the site. For what it's worth, that site was launched a couple years ago and I've already been accessing it, without the need to log in.

I don't know exactly what their plan is, but it's been discussed before that if they had a registration wall they could put up content they wanted to share with the members but not necessarily to see flapping all over the web... one example was video of meetings.
