RMA's terms are three years, with a max of two terms before one is "termed out." Seats up for election are Paul Gumbinger, who is unable to run due to the term limits; Bonita Jones, and Candy Koropp (sp?), who was just appointed to replace Chris Pedersen.
CSD also has upcoming election with four candidates for two seats. Seats up are those of Wayne Kuntz, who has served two 4-year terms, and Jerry Pasek, who was appointed to a vacant seat in spring, '07. Both of them are running, as are Betty Ferraro and Steve Mobley.
Candidates' Night is now scheduled for Mon., 10/13, 7 p.m., at CSD. I believe it will be televised on Channel 5.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

DB: I really hope you decide to file for election and secondly I hope you get elected as we can always use another opinion on the BOD. I will welcome you with open arms and look forward to you finding out how unreal most of your positions are. I think you being on the board will be a lesson in future problem solving and show you just how easy it isn't. By the way if elected I expect you to attend only in suit and tie at all times which will be a great expression of how up-tight you seem to be.

So which one of my positions do you feel are unreal? I assume you mean unobtainable but which one(s)? I know the job is arduous and difficult. Having a suit and tie is not necessary but coming from a barbeque on a weekly basis looks tacky. You talk to us about uptight and then go on and on about skateboarders whom you want to pummel? Come on.

Hey, at least they all wear shirts. What is it with all these dress code obsessions? First i shouldn't water the lawn without a shirt on lest the wimmen and chilluns be frightened, which I half understand though I reject it, but now a $70 Tommy Bahama doesn't cut it and directors must wear business wear?

Dick's got a point, DB. It's not always as easy as it looks (or doesn't look) and complex problems tend to defy simplistic solutions. I don't think the garments are the reason why. I'd suggest that undertaking to do too many things that are beyond both our core mission and our homegrown expertise are more likely sources of problems than failing to "dress up" for the small fraction of members who bother to actually attend meetings or sit through them on Channel 5.

edit: for the record, tho, DB, I do agree with your stance on skateboarder pummeling. :-)

I guess we can safely assume Dick didn't vote for DB as a replacement Director.
