Default Private and secure discussions

I know there are times that we may want to have discussions that we really do not want non-residents to easily read. For example Wilbur not wanting to elaborate on security issues on a public website. I wanted to give everyone an area to carry on those discussions if they desired in a more secure fashion. So I created an area where only residents can see and post. This area is a child board of the “Local & Regional Topics” board and can be found here:

http://www.murietaonline.com/forum/f35/

To see the above area you must register for an account and I must add you to a forum group called RM Resident. I will only add people to this group that I personally can verify are members on this community. If you are not already added to this group and want access please either send me a PM or an email (matthew.mcguire@gmail.com) and let me know who you are. I will verify your identity and add you to the RM Resident group. I will not post or share your identity.

I am not sure if anyone wants this type of feature, but I thought I would set it up so if you did want to discuss something like security that may be sensitive then you have an area to do it. As always let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions. I truly want this site to help foster open and productive discussions with our neighbors.

Matt

The secure area is open again for those that have validated their residency.

Matthew,
Please add me to local residents' forum. After that, how will we access it?

nana and Mel you both have access to the secure forum

http://www.murietaonline.com/forum/f35/

The idea behind the secure forum was to give people a place to discuss topics that they did not want the general internet public to have access to. (i.e. gate procedures, security policies, etc). You can remain anonymous, but I need to validate you live here before you get access.

BTW, Welcome Mel, or at least welcome to posting. It would be great to have regular contributions from all the Board members.
