Default local butcher?

I seem to recall a butcher in Jackson, or on the way to Jackson. Does anyone know the name of the place? I think it started with an *S* ?

It's Swingle's, on the frontage road as you curve around 49 heading down towards downtown Jackson. They have great everything and will send you monthly mailers if you sign up. Let me know if you want the phone#. Try their Kona-marinated trip-tip and also chicken (if you like it a bit sweet). They have a lot of "variety" foods as well.

Beth,
Pokerville Mkt. in Plymouth is good, similar to Plaza Foods. I believe you're thinking of the place across from Taste Restaurant--Amador Vintage Market or some such name. Not sure they are butchers, per se.

Thanks Nana, I have been to Pokerville Market and they do have a very nice produce & meat selection, as well as a great ice cream seciton and have also been to Amador Vintage Market, great place to stop for a bite to eat.

But there actually was a butcher, the name escapes me but it was kind of off the beaten path. If you were driving on Hwy 16 (turns into Hwy 49) and coming into Plymouth. And take the first street you can make a left on past the RV Park, it was somewhere down that way. I remember my in-laws (now deceased) talking about it before we moved up here and we did find it once. But they had really weird hours so they were always closed if we went by. Haven't thought of them in years...

don't count out your local butcher so quickly. He does custom orders, custom cuts and makes his own sausage as well. We've always had quality from Paza foods.
