CSD has posted the notice for public comment on the Murieta Gardens I and II, Karen has also run a story.

Public Notice - http://ranchomurietacsd.com/document...ice8-12-08.pdf
Rm.com Story - Public comment invited on planned shopping-housing area near Plaza | RanchoMurieta.com -- Rancho Murieta news, homes, golf, forums and people
EIR - Environmental Document Details | Department of Environmental Review and Assessment, County of Sacramento

I would encourage everyone to make public comments regardless of your stance. Hearing from the public is an important piece of the CEQA process. This proposal is for rezoning of 53 acres near the airport. This is where the proposed retail shopping center will be located. Also there are 208 homes proposed as well as a self-storage facility. In this market it is very unlikely that the homes will be built, however rezoning the property will increase the value. The land could then be sold or borrowed against by the owners.

Also Woodside homes just filed for bankruptcy.

I believe CC Meyers is in personal bankruptcy, not his company. It all had to do with his personal investment with the now defunct Winchester Country Club and that property.

Everybody thinks they can be a developer when they get a little cash.

Would the 200+ homes be part of RM? I can see a big problem of 200+ homes out here not being part of RM and then the residents feeling like they should have access to our amenities.

I found a map of the area that seems to show the PUD boundary. I'm pretty sure it's on the RMCSD website. Google found it for me... I think that the area being looked at for development is the green area north of the airport.

They would be in our PUD so under RMCSD, but not any part of RMA. The EIR shows the location pretty well.

So where do these residents go for recreation since the nearest parks for them are behind a gate. No Summerfest, ETC, Fourth of July Parade, etc... unless they know a resident and can come in as a guest.
