We're going to the cousin's this year (taking fruit salad and carmelitas...non-traditional dessert, but Cousin wants carmelitas...so be it!)

Anyhoo, if we were doing it at home, I'd roast, on a rack, in the oven. I love the smell of turkey cooking! FIL always bbq's it, and I think it always comes out too dry.

I cook mine over an open fire in the fireplace.

Just kidding, roasted on rack in oven is the real answer.

this year I've got a date with my son at the Country Club so I didn't think it fit into any of the categories! Ranch, my southern from Florida cousin, always fries her turkey, So, are you from that part of our fine country?

I am from a "Finer" part of The USA; Monterey.

Lived outside of Red Stick, LA for a few years, a long time ago, that's where I learned that the best way to "Cook da Bird" was Deep Fried.

Never fails, never dry, unbelievable.

Ever had Turduckin?

Slow roasted (in a pan) on the BBQ

Next year I'd like to try one in a smoker

Have done it on the Weber for years, with a gravy drip pan underneath--always awesome--have been to in-laws and son's, where it is deep-fried in peanut oil--moist and tender but then the stuffing must be cooked separately. Just drooling thinking about the entire feast right now and Happy T-giving to all you RMOers!

Have had both oven and deep fried, Love both... Of the two times I've hosted, I served pear stuffed pork chops (wont do that again APPARENTLY people want Turkey on Turkey day) the second, my sweet mother did all the Turkey work, touching that raw bird creeps me out! maybe that is why I did the pork? I'm on Hors d'oeuvres duty this year....
