Default Here's what I've been reading.

I just finished reading "Security Powers in Oz, Fact or Fiction" by Lisa Taylor and Wilbur Haines. Published by RMO (200. The plot was quit clear yet at times hard to read. Pretty sure it's a fiction novel, but judge for yourself. It's about a small communities security staff and it's magical powers. The main character in the story has an agenda of making her husband a bonafide LE officer and uses the whimsical blathering of a lawyer friend to try and convince the community of a crime wave overtaking the small suburb. All the while drawing a harsh resistance from the community itself. Very interesting read although at times very redundant.

LMAO

Be sure to put in a spoiler alert.

I don't want to ruin the ending for everyone but I think you will all be pleasantly surprised. You won't believe what happens to the main character and her dogs.

Somehow, I suspect you've only read the first rough draft of the first chapter and that novel is an ongoing project that has yet to be completed.

Default Re: Here's what I've been reading.

Hmmm...

Just keep the bad guys out, let our kids be kids, and everything will work out just fine. I was a former Murieta youth, and I can make the claim that the Security guards weren't any good at detaining us then, and judging by the security logs, not much has changed today. A badge, handcuffs and a .38 special won't change that, it will just get tragic.

The good (and by this I mean most effective) security guards didn't need to chase (which is what we wanted), detain or arrest us. They knew the community members well enough to know who was at home and who was causing a bit of mischief. The good ones had our fathers up and waiting.

Oh and for the gun nuts out there, I am a gun owner and a hunter so no need for a thread on that...and for you animal rights folks, I do eat what I kill (no need for trophies), and for the vegetarians out there, I'm sorry...you're missing out...and for the society of missing persons, I am apologize for misusing the term "missing", and....
