This is a discussion on FYI on RM intersections... within the Local & Regional Topics forum, part of the Rancho Murieta Topics category; Intersections that have just been repaved but not yet repainted in RM. it seems that the red stop sign is . . .
Intersections that have just been repaved but not yet repainted in RM. it seems that the red stop sign is not enough-and without the white STOP on the ground-cars have been flying through the last few days. So, careful if you are turning in front of a vehicle at one of these intersections-saw a sedan almost t-boned by a construction truck at Pera and the lower Guadalupe Saturday.

yes, I almost got clobbered the other day by a nice lady who apparently forgot there is a stop sign at that same intersection she drives through every day.

hm, well.. I did that on Pera last week. Total accident.... I didn't FORGET there was a stop sign, nor do I drive that way ever day. I just had a moment of: child talking in back seat, and then me forgetting that I needed to go left instead of right.. no one was there when i was about to turn right, but then at the moment when i rememberd i needed to to turn left, i didnt look back to see if someone had arrived at the other side of the stop. The guy looked like you. I tried to say sorry, but the man, whoever it was, didn't seem to be havin it. So Wilbur, if this was you, I'M SORRRRRRRRRRRY

I have that problem all of the time and there is a stop sign written on the asphalt and a stop sign. When I am turning left from Murieta Parkway to Lago Dr. I have the right a-way because I don't have a stop sign, and yet, so many times, even though I have my turn signal on, and begin my turn, I have to jam on my brakes because the person who rolled through the stop sign doesn't understand that stop really does mean stop. So, I'm not convinced that just because there isn't the words STOP on the asphalt, doesn't means that that person would stop even if there is the word printed.
I now assume that the person at the stop sign, probably won't stop, and so I turn very slowly so that I can stop quickly if needed. More than once, the person on Murieta Parkway drives past me giving me a mean look as if I did a really stupid thing! I just laugh to myself, cause that person need only look in the mirror to see the truth!!
