Default Dear Small Business Owners,

Please don't fall prey to the common misconception that everyone feels one way or another. The loudest on both ends of the spectrum are heard and the rest of us fall in the middle. Please also know that you can't unpost once something is on the web. It's there for all to interpret, read into and get affronted by. It's a cruddy place to refute and rebut. It's not good for you, your business or your employees. Finally, for all the advertising dollars you spend - please don't negate it with a bad day vent. Too many people visit websites. If you feel like you need to be heard here are a few ways to do it:

Start a blog on RM.com with weekly specials, recipes, family recommendations, new items, food pairings and even your business history.

Ask Karen Muldoon or River Valley Times to do a feature on your business your background etc. Business Anniversaries, new hires, special events..these are all newsworthy.

Turn the online communities into your friends. You will never have better, less expensive way to reach literally thousands of people. Be positive, friendly and professional. Post nice things about your employees and your customers. People will love you. And they will get to know you better. Best of all, you will feel better spending some time on the bright side.

I love small businesses and small business owners. I think you need every advantage too. Turn that frown upside down, most people (and I mean it) are in your corner.

Wow!

RanchHQ has just about anything/everything we need! (well, I don't need a parking spot, but I suppose I will when I go to buy my pinatas and music)

I do my best to support the locals! (and, I'm just sayin', if Plaza stops carrying Dreyer's 'Loaded Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cup, we could have a problem...)
