Well, la-dee-dah.

Much there to ruminate about.

Obviously the old deal is now officially unwound and doornail-dead. And apparently no consensus on what Plan B would even roughly look like and no publicly identifiable successor to Riverview as yet.

BTW I believe the 160 unit Stathos parcel is a reference to Parcel One, the apartment parcel at the North Gate. Interesting to see them popping their heads up, even if just in an "informational" capacity.

DB, what sayeth the drums? Kevin, any clues you can share?

There is a lot in that letter; I'll see if I can get some additional insight.

The referenced Stathos property does indeed appear to refer to the apartments-zoned Parcel One between the North Gate and Yellow Bridge, wrapping around behind the RMA building as shown in the parcel map in this post Low Income Housing in Rancho Murieta and where

and mentioned in this article on karen's site as having been sold by Brian Vail to Frank Stathos
RanchoMurieta.com

and also discussed in this 2001 article about John Merchant's efforts to acquire it for a community center and pool (and also solve the problem of an apartment parcel within the gate). this article also mentions the coercive use of the parcel in the distant past
RanchoMurieta.com

now somebody tell me why the developer of THAT parcel is interested in the water game at this point in time. things that make you go hmmmmm....

forgive my ignorance, but isn't the county doing a master plan after the first 2 or 3 developers got approval. All other developers will need to go by this new master plan?

They haven't yet tumbled to that request, Creative. They have agreed to something called "capacity studies" or the like, to take a quickie look at total rooftop capacity, but there's a concern they're just going to add up some old numbers and call it a day without really restudying anything. What they're definitely refusing to do this far is to update the Master Plan and define a new Big Picture. Which leaves unresolved not only the rooftop cap but also which landowner gets to build how many units where, and what open space will remain and where.
