CSD Ad Hoc Governance Report

Have no fear. I'm sure this report will soon be gathering dust on a shelf in the CSD building somewhere, and then in 5-10 years we will repeat the process all over again because its recommendations will be outdated by then.

Sometimes, if only ONE suggestion/recommendation in followed, it is a worthwhile endeavor (while the rest collects dust, as Luke so aptly put it). When vehicles (RMA, CSD, RMCC) are used primarily on our private streets, an annual rebate of gasoline tax is available. There is a 3-year statute of limitations for filing; CSD has done so and RMA is nearly done with their filing procedures (I am not aware of the club's status). Look at it this way: the only "public" roads on which any of our local "work" vehicles travel is the one mile between gates, so with accurate logging of trips, justifying the rebate is pretty cut and dried.
So, we should all thank the ad hoc committee for culling that out; however, the amount of money refunded will certainly not pay for anything grandiose like a full-fledged police department.
