Gotta Congrat you Matt.

Over 65 Votes have come in just the last few hours.

Maybe it is just all the Costco Employees getting home from work, but anyway this Board has some Fans.

Thanks again.

Have the 106 poll respondents all actually belonged to both outfits and have a real basis of comparison? I was a bit surprised that some of our regulars carry both cards. With the substantial overlap in product and, it always seemed to me, the closeness in price, I'm curious, why do some find it worthwhile to pay two member fees?

If you buy a lot of dog food, the better quality stuff, the savings pays for the Costco membership on the first purchase. That is how we got started with Costco. We have since let the Sams membership expire. There were food items that we could get at Sams that are not available at Costco though, so I am tempted at times to belong to both again.

I'm kind of split on the two... I am partial to Costco's meat though. I repacage all of our meat into smaller family size portions... Costco's chicken breasts are already packed in smaller vacuum sealed portions, Sam's are not... other than that I'd say they are the same.

We like to shop both too- there are some things we like to get at Sam's that Costco doesn't carry and vice versa. I agree with Mr. Smith- we prefer Costco's meat over Sam's. Sam's has a great selection of DVDs and CDs. It's a little dangerous having both memberships though- we'd probably save some money if we just stuck to joining one or the other!

I only have a Costco card, and have had one for many years, when it was called Price Club. I have gone to Sam's with a friend that has both cards, and it is handy to have when you are having a party, because Sam's has lots of Party supplies, and definitely has different stuff than Costco, but going to Costco is dangerous enough for my husband for, so I can't imagine having both cards.

We have a Costco card, but I try avoiding shopping there like the plague. If I were sent to get a lifetime supply of toilet paper and peanut butter, and inevitably come home with a Big Screen TV too.

You have to love the hot dogs at Costco though. Now, if I could just get those prices at Arco Arena.

No joke!
Plus Garlic Olive oil, Salt and Pepper pistachios, a new book (what's wrong with the library?), and a strong desire for new outdoor Christmas lights...
Got to admire a retail schematic well executed...
