Costco vs. Sams Club

Mrs. HQ & I are discussing joining one or the other, with the Cosco opening in Folsom.

We have no recent experience with either.

The only disadvantge to Sam's Club is that Best Buy and REI are awful close.

That could pose a problem Mrs. HQ is currently unaware of.

Any thoughts?

My wife tells me that Sam's is cheaper, but Costco has items that you cannot find at Sam's. She prefers Sam's Club.

We do Costco...in fact I just got back from there.....guess what....saw some Christmas things already!!!!! Yike!!!!

Yeah! I'm in retail heaven today!

Costco has more organic and cutting edge in the news stuff. For instance - one day you'll read Organic Flax Seed is good for you and then bang Costco will have it. Someone likes Cane Sugar Coke in your family and next week there will be a big end cap of it. Also good beef etc and their Kirkland Brand is always pretty good. I fancy they are held to a high standard by their persnickety customers.

Here's the big plus for Sam's Club in my book - they open early, early..

Costco - 10AM if you have a $100 membership 11am otherwise
Sam's Club is 8 am maybe? Huge difference if you are up with the chickens..

Costco has inexpensive (but good) dog food. Sam's has a better icecream snack selection. Helpful I know.

The membership card? Costco does. I am not sure if SAMS does.

Just checked. Both my Sam's and Costco cards have my picture.
