Default COSTCO~~ Or more like, Costmore!

Wondering if the yearly membership is now worth it. Gas is no bargain, dog food went up $6.00 for a 40lb bag! ( She likes our food better anyway) Bread, eggs everything has gone up. All this in two weeks?

Making hay while the sun shines, it seems. Too bad we just renewed for another year. They have some wonderful products, if there are ten of you to a family!

Methinks ( once again Birdie ) I shall stick to the place once known as CFO...we still call it that. They have the best bargains ever. Unusual products and patrons!. However if you wish to pay around $9.00 per lb for a good English cheese that costs $3.49 per lb then Costco it is for you! I love a bargain though!

I think everything has gone up in price at the grocery store like Bel Air, Nugget. Milk, bread, corn, veggies, etc.

You might see a bigger increase in price at Costco because you are buying 4 or 6 of the same thing at once

Good point.

Costco is still a great bargain. Prices will eventually go up everywhere including Costco, especially in our time of nearly $4/gallon gas.

I"ve found that Costco isn't always a bargain - sometimes you can get things cheaper on sale at other places. But overall, many of the items are a bargain and we shop there regularly.

Does anyone have a clue about the quality of their gas? My car doesn't seem to have any problems with it, and often even gets better mileage with it than gas from some of the top tier gasolines.

I agree Woof.....it's like any other store, one needs to shop around and check prices. Some items may be the same or higher than other stores and some prices are lower...depends on what you purchase...FI, we are only 2 in this house and I find buying meats, breaking them down and freezing them in pkg's of 2 works for us. Many items like peanut butter is cheaper there even though I get two big jars and they last longer than the small more expensive ones. Gotta be a shopper but it works.

Gas, I don't know.....I was told years ago that all gas is really the same...doesn't seem to matter what the brand is.

Happy Shopping.....

I fully believe their gas is fine. I have run their gas in my regular car and my high compression engine car periodically without a problem. Notice no difference when switching gas brands back and forth.

It's quite possible that what they're buying is coming from multiple "brand name" refineries.

Glad to hear the thoughts on the gas. (Side note, worst gas I ever used was Shell - would make one of my cars ping like crazy).
