When will people stop believing anything Wilbur has to say. This is getting to be so freakin' comical, I can hardly hold in the laughter. When will people start to realiZe that he and the other FOCers will say and do anything to further their ridiculous agenda. And they call themselves leaders in our community. What a joke.

Isn’t it a vicious circle? Seems like were right back where we started except as a result of FOC the membership has voted on and passed, according to our legal advisors, an unlawful bylaws amendment.

Goldenbear, you pretty much summed it up!
By the way, I talked with someone who said that the FOCers are now committed to making the cable system the best that it can be. I find this an amazing piece of information and a 360 degree reversal of what these guys were says not so long ago, if it is actually true. I sure would like to know why they have changed their tune, so... do you know what has motivated this turn around, or what your opinions is to this change.

That is great news, Feisty, if true. The BoD and Committees can demonstrate sincerity in that pronouncement by releasing the already budgeted funds now to complete the underground cable conduit so that all residents can now benefit from the vastly improved digital/high definition cable product and common facility. This must be totally unrelated to FOC legal end-runs regarding MBA/Bylaws conflict or waiting yet another Peregrine technical analysis of the common cable facility. As Golfing Bear says, its not rocket science to replace rotten cable, unlike some of the gold-plated upgrade recommendations likely forthcoming from Peregrine. Afterall, that's what they do, and that will be a whole new contemplation for the Committees and BoD. As is the still-hanging illegality of the FOC Bylaws amendment.

we need a new crisis out here for the cable issue to be ignored or finished one way or the other.

I see NO reason not to improve the quality of our cable system by making it uniform "in the ground." We don't need to pay a nickle to figure that out. THAT also has NOTHING to do with FOC...choice is choice. We now have it, let's move on, and make what we have useful to the membership. If it brings folks back, fine. If not, that's their choice to put a tin can thing on their roof so they can watch the boob tube with programming they like.

I agree, but the FOC group does not. They will be pressing to make non-programming costs optional too.

Feisty I don’t have any idea what motivates these guys. You have to remember I was anointed as the Villain in this whole deal by Wilbur, J.T. Weatherford, Mel Standart, Jim Moore, Roy Harmon, and Andy Keyes for not doing anything about making the FOC vote happen. Also remember according to these same fine community representatives they were going to make it happen and happen right now when they took over the BOD’s

One guess I can come up with is they are making it up as they go along which to me is an indication they screwed things up right from the start. I know that would shock most people out there as everyone knows this group has all the answers for our association and they never make mistakes even when they do.

My best guess is the committee will next recommend the Board establish a separate corporation to run CATV in an effort to remove it from the direct control of RMA. This would create a Cable Board, Cable GM and staff independent of RMA which would have the authority to operate the cable franchise. Doing this would require a vote of all lots within the PUD. They could then operate under their own budget, rules, etc., and also establish what we as customers would pay. This structure could also determine if TV would be totally optional. There are many difficult hurdles to overcome if they go this way as I believe RMA would be required to transfer all reserve funds to the new organization plus there is property currently controlled by RMA that would have to pass to this new board.

I have to admit I’m enjoying watching them scramble and It’s great to be able to say “I told you what steps had to be taken and you wouldn’t listen” This whole thing reminds me of Alice In Wonderland as they follow Wilbur and John right down an endless rabbit hole. What I haven’t figured out yet is which one is the Mad Hatter?

Golfingbear, funny you say that cause I have described this scenario as Alice in Wonderland also. Hey, join the villain bandwagon pal, there are many of us there with you!!!
Thanks for your opinions of the situation by the way.. Every time I have stated on here that John, George and possibility Wilbur stated from the start and some I believe still do, that the cable system should go away, but then you hear that that was never the case, and now they want the best darn system in the world. It must be those mushrooms in "Alice" that these guys are eating for a snack that has caused this amazing change.

RMA requesting from themselves that a new non-profit corporation be formed to manage the cable facility? Now that would be a hoot! It would also still require RMA to negotiate with PTF and the North Developers to amend the MBA. A sticking point even now, it seems.
