Default Building of the Skate Park

I don't want to discuss the pros and cons of the Skate Park. My question is Did or when did RMA decide to go through with the building or ownership of the Skate Park? Has a site been established? Sorry if I am living in a fog. I remember SOME discussion but, I don't remember final anything.

Overflow crowd at RMA backs skate park proposal

The skatepark is one of many project planned by the RMYEA. A sand volleyball court and a rec center (with a pool) have also been discussed.

Matthew, I remember that presentation, but I don't remember a conclusion and a firm location by the RMA board.
Again no agenda on my part just don't remember

June 2007 was the approval.

Quote:
The board approved a memorandum of understanding with Rancho Murieta Youth Enrichment Advocacy for a skateboard park. The agreement will allow the group to begin fundraising efforts to build the 10,000-square-foot skateboard park, which is estimated to cost just under $350,000. The facility would be located at Stonehouse Park. The park will be turned over to the RMA to own, operate and maintain when completed.
The design phase of the project was carried out by the Parks Committee last year. The committee agreed to make the skateboard park a top priority on the parks matrix and added $600 from the parks fund to the $9,400 donated by the Kiwanis Club to fund the $10,000 design last year.

I'd certainly like to see the skate park come to fruition. I think that it would be a great community resource for people that love to skate. My only concern would be to ensure that it's not so far out of the way that it becomes difficult or time-consuming for the Fire Department to access it in the event that someone gets injured. I suspect that only a truly badly designed skate park would cause access to be a problem.

Access would be no different than if emergency crews had to go to the baseball diamond. In fact, it would be quicker for them to get to Stonehouse than it would to get to Lake Clementia if there was an emergency there.

The site is the other side of the street running the length of Stonehouse Park, i.e. across from the basketball courts, alternate site is at far end of that side down toward the mainteance lots. So yes, an injury is just as accessible as a Little Leaguer who gets beaned or breaks an arm.

Or someone who gets drunk at an ETC event at Lake Clementia and decides to fall out of their golf cart and crack their head open.
