At some point it may become Bobcat Season around here. I'm getting tired of waiting for one to snatch a kid so F&G will get off their butts, and I'm probably not the only one.

Default Re: Bobcat sighting

It's not a Bobcat.

"With a gray to brown coat, whiskered face, and black-tufted ears, the Bobcat resembles the other species of the mid-sized Lynx genus. It is smaller than the Canadian Lynx, with which it shares parts of its range, but is about twice as large as the domestic cat. It has distinctive black bars on its forelegs and a black-tipped, stubby tail, from which it derives its name."

Are we sure that someone's bengal cat didn't get out? The last two photos look like they could be a bengal or savannah to me.

It's clearly not a Mountain Lion, so what kind of cat is it?

As you can see, this mountain lion has no spots. So what could that cat in the picture be, not a mountain lion, not a bobcat, ??

I agree. It's tough to tell the size, but it sure looks a lot like a Savannah.

Being the technological whiz that I am, I am not sure how to insert images here ....

But, google bengal cat and savannah cat. They are descendants of "wild" cats and look like small versions of the large cats. The cat in the pictures on rm.com looks like some sort of bengal or savannah IMHO (There are a lot of varieties of bengals...spotted, marbled, etc.). These types of cats can get to be 25 pounds

I think someone's pet may be loose

Bobcats have very little tail, so the picture on .com is definitely not a bobcat.
