This "feels" like an unbalanced adult or angry kid. I'm ready to invest my time and some money to work towards a solution. Camera's sound like a good start. I'm still hopeful for Neighborhood Watch. I really think this is exactly the kind of crime that can be deterred.
I vote pissed off adult, given its the RMA compliance vehicle. What beef would teens have with Ian's car? They don't get the $100 fines in the mail.

Before you would spend the money (regardless, it comes out of our pockets) would you wish to know if cameras actually deter crime? I tried to find articles (that were not written by camera providers) that supported this. I would love to see data that supports this. Problems with the Panopticon: UK CCTVs don't cut crime rates
I would like to compare apples to apples- we aren't a major municipality, and our crime/criminals arent the same as London's (or even Sacramento's). But its a great question and hopefully we can find some data to support either side of it.

You're right, we need to understand that we do not have the money nor the human resources to support the camera approach. If/when someone can show that cameras do indeed deter crime, that is the time to consider them. Isn't there a camera pointed at the gazebo now? No problems there, correct?

Anyone know anything about this camera?
1> Who has access to the live feed?
2> Is the live feed recorded?
3> What is the quality of the image?
I ask because I too am trying to determine in my own mind the effectiveness of a camera.

It may not deter the crime, but hopefully a camera would capture the image of the perp in action.

I'd like to go back to why Ian didn't park the Compliance SUV at the maintenance yard. If your own car had been vandalized several times, wouldn't you do something different to try to prevent the same thing from happening again and again. Especially if the replacement or repairs are coming out of your own pocket. So, it might take Ian 5 more minutes to drive to the maintenance yard, park his car, get into the SUV and drive to the RMA building. BFD!!!!
