Default Wireless Laptop

Greatings O Great Ones With "Puter Knowledge:

At Christmas my Wife, The Lovely and Gracious Nurse Ratchet, presented me with a new Laptop.

Gateway M-Series, Windows Visa, ADM Turion 64 X2, ATI Radeon Graphics, Marvell Wireless, etc, etc.

Question: I guess I have Wireless ability installed. Does anyone know of where I can go to test it out?

If so, besides sliding the switch from "Wireless Off" to "Wireless On" what else do I need to do?

Can this sucker firgure out everything for me or do I need to go into Control Panel, or somewhere else, to make adjustments?

Thanking You In Advance:
RanchHQ

I am far from a techie but maybe I can help you until a techie reads your post.

If your laptop doesn't do everything for you, mine automatically searches for a wireless connection, you can select "connect to" from the start menu. That will list all the wireless connections available to you from your location. If you find one that isn't secure you should be able to connect using it.

I hope this helps,

Zebra

I am taking My Wife, The Lovely and Gracious Nurse Ratchet to SF for the Weekend in September.

We are not "World Travelers".

The Hotel advertises "Free In-Room Wireless" with a "Premium Service Available".

I have no clue what that means, I guess I will call them.

Also, with a "JackPack Connector" the Plasma TV can be used as a Computer Screen.

What in the he77 is a "JackPack Connector"?

Not sure of the difference between free wireless and premium service. Maybe more bandwidth?

A Jack Pack is simply all of the connections on the TV. It normally refers to the main block of input and output on the back of the TV. Do you want to connect to the TV? We could probably get the specs of your laptop and get you all prepared.

Gateway M-Series, AMD Turion, ATI Radeon Graphics, M Marvell Wireless, and it says HDMI on the side of the screen.

Need more info? If so tell me where to find it.

If you want to connect the laptop to the TV I would call the hotel and ask if the TV has HDMI. That connection is your best bet if the TV supports it. Video and audio run down the same cable. So all you will need is a single HDMI cable.

Thanks, Matt!

P.S. How do you say "HDMI Port" in Chinese, Korean, Russian and Punjab?
