I checked the other day and found I have over 1100 Photos in this here Laptop.
I would like to move them.
Move them to Disks or one of those Memory Stick things (I have never used them)?
Which one, and how?
Windows Vista (which works great).
USP Ports all over the place.
Thanks.

USB memory sticks are not the way to go for things you don't want to lose when we are talking long term storage. CD's or an external hard drive is much better. CD's will degrade after a while too. The ones you make yourself are burned, the ones you buy from the store are stamped. A stamped CD will last a very long time, but a burned CD may not. It depends on the quality of the CD and your burner.
I store all of my photos on a hard drive in my desktop computer. I make a copy to an external hard drive. Then I upload most of my photos to SmugMug Photo Sharing. Your photos look better here.. The basic account is $39 per year and comes with unlimited storage. Once your photos are uploaded they are stored in three different datacenters. That basically gives me 5 copies of my photos. Two at home and 3 online. If anyone wants a smugmug account you can use my email address (matthew.mcguire@gmail.com) in the Referred by field to save $5 (I get a $10 credit towards my next years renewal)

I would store them on a DVD+R DL since a flash drive might go bad on you. Also, the dual layer DVD will hold up to 8.5 gig of storage.
DVD+R DL? What is the DL, Dual Layer? Will the Disk say DL on it?
I have Disks that say 4.7GB, how many Photos might they hold?
Should I round them all up and put them into one Folder or leave them in their Current Folders?
I guess Windows Vista will tell me how.
Thanks, Damon.
Hope I breakdown someday so I can meet you.

Mrs. HQ will not let me spend any $$$ until after Election Day, for obvious reasons.
I could upload them all to Photobucket, but that would take weeks. I still am not able to download from Photobucket to this site, dag nab it.

You can take them and put them into one folder. I would right click on the folder that you placed them in and scroll down to properties and this would tell you how big the files are Yes ,The DVD+R DL is clearly labeled "Double Layer Recordable".

It depends on how big your photos are. Generally the higher the megapixel camera the larger the photos. 4.7G can hold about 4810 1MB pictures or about 1600 3MB pictures.
