Default ITunes to Windows Media Player?

So, it looks like I have reached my limit of seven (7) Copies Made of my favorite Dave Stamey Album.

Any way to move music from ITunes to Windows Media Player?

I might share.

Did you buy the album though iTunes or did you import it into iTune from some other source?

I spent $9.99 of my hard earned Money and downloaded it directly from ITunes.

Others are telling me it can't be done.

I told them just wait till I hear from Matt.

Maybe I can trash the origional download somehow and spend another $9.99 and purchase another copy.

That is what I will more than likely try, stealing music really doesn't sit well with moi.

Default Re: ITunes to Windows Media Player?

This might seem overboard, but we're big audiophiles in this house....

We keep an old (and usually dusty) computer in the closet to handle our music. It runs an old version of Windows (2000) and the oldest WMP (Windows Media Player) version out there, and then I use a program called Ephpod to transfer my music to my iPod (EphPod - iPod for Windows (and Linux) :: HOME). Ephpod can also get music transferred the other direction- from your iPod to PC.

This setup gets me around the licensing (limit) issues, but might seem like a bit much if you're not a music nut. You can download your music once on iTunes, transfer it over to the old machine, then its on there for good. Hopefully it will keep working this way- its a heck of a lot cheaper than repurchasing the same music.

Anyone else out there have a better solution? I have to think I'm taking the long route here. Hero? Typo? Matt?

I don't have either an I Pod or another 'puter.

I don't buy 'puters new until the old blows up.

P.S. Dust is not "dust"; it is considered "Western Decor" here.

So then how'd you run through your licenses if you dont transfer them around to iPods/Zune's?

Recorded CD's and I guess I gave them all away.

I had to make two (2) for my Vet, one of his other Customers stole the first one I gave him.

I believe it is also possible, tho a bit of a pain in the arse, to play the song in iTunes while recording it to a new .wav file with Windows Recorder. And I think the current version of Windows Media Player will then create an mp3 out of the wav for you. I have other fancier tools for this but I think the necessary basic features are there in these built-in freebies.

And yes there are a number of quasi-licit shareware programs out there which will do the conversion. be careful where you download them from, though. Nasty little people like to grab a popular shareware, add some of their own fun code into it, and slip it into distribution.
