Just going off of memory, there were a number of reasons why the EGUSD decided not to pursue a school at the Escuela site. I recall that one of them had to do with the Waste Water system and one of the options explored briefly was an on-site waste water plant or an on-site septic system that needed a bit of acreage for it to work. Both got tossed out, and eventually the Frank property was looked at, a few other ideas were tossed around, and since that property is outside the CSD's boundaries, there'd be some need to extend the services out to that site and the EGUSD looked again at some kind of on-site wastewater system... As we all now know, the CSD couldn't provide the services due to capacity. The fact that the EGUSD ultimately abandoned that site for one where the present CRES site is merely mooted the whole issue.

Otherwise, I do recall that there was a contingent of residents (I never paid attention to who they were) who were vocal about not wanting to have a school site inside the gates. Their fear was that if the only access to that site was through the gates, effectively, the streets would have to be opened to the public for the purpose of going to and from the school and those people would not be accountable for their speeding (or whatever). I believe that eventually there was a proposal to put the entrance to the school on Stonehouse Road, then there was the realigning of Stonehouse Road when the proposed site became the Frank property...

It all gave me a headache. A lot of it is moot now. And a pretty good swerve from the original topic.
