Please bring your family and join us on April 10, 2010 for a lovely 5K (3.1 miles) walk in Elk Grove Regional Park. The walk begins at 10:00 a.m., ending with a delicious lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse.

The RMSC website staff recently sat down with new RMSC President Brad Werner to capture his thoughts on the upcoming season. Here is the interview conducted February 27, 2010.
RMSC – On behalf of all the families involved in RMSC soccer, thank you for accepting the position of President for the 2010 season. What were your thoughts when you were elected President?
BW – My initial hope was that I would meet the level of professionalism that the previous Presidents (Kevin Slagle & Paul Frank) displayed. We have been very lucky that our past Board Members were dedicated and had excellent foresight. The previous Boards have made this transition painless.

Our 2010 Home Tour will be held in Volcano, a little foothill gem, steeped in gold rush era history. This unique town has no cookie cutter shopping centers or chain establishments. Home Tour ticket holders will truly be in for a treat.
The 38th annual AAUW Home Tour will feature four homes and several historic sites. Two of the homes as well as the historic buildings date back to the mid-eighteen hundreds. A 1930s era home, also on the tour, will enable some ticket holders to re-visit their youth. A lovely, energy efficient (off the grid), straw bale house tops off the home selections. Costumed members of the Volcano Theater Co. will serve as docents at the Cobblestone Theatre and the Volcano Amphitheatre. The Odd Fellows/Masonic Hall (circa 1854) will be open for a for rare view of the Mason’s Meeting Hall, still illuminated by gaslights and complete with mid 19th century artifacts. A historic photo exhibit will be on view at the Armory Hall.

One of the hot forum discussions occurring right now on Rancho Murieta Online is whether or not Summerfest should continue at Stonehouse Park. Some of the alternative suggested locations are at the Equestrian Center or Lake Clementia.
The primary objection to the Stonehouse location is the condition of the fields after the carnival is gone. The heavy trucks, lack of watering, and intense foot traffic all take their toll. There are pros and cons to each of the three locations. The Summerfest committee is listening so let them know what you think.
